Nightmare Landscape
Description:In this photo there are two male Podocarpus macrophyllus shrubs, commonly called Yew Pines. Each of them will produce many millions of grains of pollen each year, pollen that is both allergenic, and poisonous. This pollen can easily pass right through the window screens behind them. The people inside this house will have months of exposure each year to this toxic pollen. It will be on their rugs, their couches, their chairs, on them.
If these two shrubs had been female, they would have looked almost exactly the same, but they would have produced no pollen, ever. Unfortunately, this landscape situation pictured, is not unusual, but is actually all too common.

From: monrovia(Thu Jul01 14:39:55 2004) doesn't the female produce messy fruit? What may be messy for 1 person to clean off the ground at least wouldn't effect others w/"air-borne" effectiveness. This is why smoking is no longer allowed in buildings. Re-thinking "eye-sore" versus "health-risk" would help to improve air quality. This photo wasNot dubbed "Nightmare" for nothing. Thanks for the comment area. And keep Up The "Good Fight" mLb
