From: Tom Ogren (Sun Feb 15 19:58:37 2004) This is a male Juniperus chinensis, Chinese Juniper, and this one is a male plant. Note the absence of any juniper berries and the abundance of male pollen cones. This particular shrub is about a week away from shedding its pollen, and when it does release pollen there will be a huge amount of it...all of it highly allergenic. If you have these in your own yard (and this is way too common) do yourself (and your children) a favor and get rid of them. |
