This is a close up photo of male Ginkgo biloba pollen flowers. The flowers on this tree are not quite yet ready to release pollen. There is considerable resistance to planting female ginkgo trees since they produce such stinky fruit, and that is understandable. What is less well known though, is that the male ginkgo trees do shed quite a bit of allergenic pollen. This pollen doesn't normally travel very far, however if the tree is in your yard, you'll get plenty of its pollen.
