From: Tom Ogren (Sun Feb 15 20:22:46 2004) These are male flowers on a male willow tree. All willow (Salix) species are separate sexed. Willows are amphipilous, i.e. they are pollinated by both insects and the wind. Willow pollen is, on a grain per grain basis, quite allergenic. Only male willows shed pollen. |
